It is the second time the Foreign Language Center of Tbilisi State Medical University has successfully passed the International UNIcert® Accreditation, organized by UNIcert®, - the member of AKS.

(European Association of Language Centers, Institutes for Language Teaching and Foreign Language Institutes). For the first time, the Foreign Language Center of Tbilisi State Medical University received UNIcert® accreditation in 2014 and Foreign Language Center of TSMU was authorized to issue certificates of UNIcert in English (UNIcert®II (B2) andUNIcert® III (C1)) and German(UNIcert® II (B2)and UNIcert® III (C1)) languages. Certificate of language teaching is based on the common European framework-program and UNIcert levels, so that it is additionally provided with the specifics of higher educational institutions. The certificate is recognized in Europe during students’ mobility and their employment.

The term of  accreditation- 2014 expired on September 30, 2017, after which the Foreign Languages ​​Center has passed the accreditation for the second time.

UNIcert® Accreditation Committee, the members of which are the representatives of German leading  universities confirmed that the education and assessment methods  at Foreign Language Center of  TSMU is based on the progam designed for the higher educational institutions and corresponds to the modern quality standards of transparency and professionalism. According to the above-mentioned the Foreign Language Center of TSMU  is authorized to issue the UNIcert® Certificates.

This is very important for TSMU students, masters and doctoral students who are often practicing in leading European clinics (Germany, Austria, USA, France, Belgium, Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Israel). The high level of language skills, along with professional medical knowledge, is a necessary prerequisite for their selection. It should be emphasized that in the European countries only specialists fluent in appropriate languages are given the advantage and are able to make further advancement.

UNIcert® II (B2 Level) 

Prerequisites for the courses:

• 90-hour University obligatory course in foreign language;
• Admission Test (minimum - B 2.1 level);
• Paid intensive courses of UNIcert® program, 12 weeks, 72 hours. (6 hrs a week);
• Final exam  - UNIcert II® Certificate (Level B 2).

UNIcert® III (C1 Level)

Prerequisites for the courses:

• 90-hour University obligatory course in foreign language;
• Admission Test (minimum  -  B 2.2 level)
• Persons with B2 Certificate;
• Paid intensive courses of UNIcert® program, 20 weeks, 120 hours. (6 hrs a week);
• Final Exam  - UNIcert® III Certificate (C1 Level).
