The evening dedicated to the memory of Professor Vakhtang Kipiani

 
   

On November 30, 2017, the evening dedicated to the memory of Professor Vakhtang Kipiani, former Vice-Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University and former Head of TSMU Department of Pathological Physiology supported by the leadership of TSMU and organized by the Departments of Pathophysiology and Physiology was held at the Administrative Building of Tbilisi State Medical University.

Together with academic and administrative personnel of Tbilisi State Medical University the evening was attended by the colleagues of Prof.Vakhtang Kipiani, representatives of various scientific and educational institutions, friends and family members.

His colleagues spoke about Professor’s contributions to science and the University as a whole.  Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, the Rector of TSMU, emphasized the special talent and  hard work of Professor Kipiani: "As you know, in those years it was difficult to lead the scientific activities, but he was the best. He had a special charisma and intellect, giving off heat to others around him. His words and deeds were never separated".

The speeches were made by: Professor Teimuraz Petriashvili, Department of Pathophysiology; Professor Nikoloz Gongadze, Department of Medical Pharmacology; Associate Professor Natalia Pavliashvili Department of Pathophysiology; Professor Ramaz Khetsuriani, Department of Human Anatomy, etc.

In addition to the professional career the speakers recalled life stories spend together with Prof. Vakhtan Kipiani, with great love and humor.  It was noted that the professor had a special sense of humor, personal characteristics and talents. Besides medical practice, he was fascinated by poetry, in which he was as successful as scientific activities. 

Nana Kipiani, Deputy Dean of TSMU Faculty of  Stomatology, daughter of Prof. Vakhtang Kipiani, expressed her  thankfulness to  the Rector and Administration of Tbilisi State Medical University for organizing the evening. 

The guests noted that this was a love day -  the  leitmotif of the evening was – we love you, Vakhtang, love you, love you!
