Dr. Ole Martin Rordam, M.D., Dermatologist (Trondheim, Norway) visited Tbilisi State Medical University.  Within the frames of visit, he provided consultations and treatment of various diseases for the patients of G.Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University. Together with Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Dr. Ole Martin Rordam conducted consultations and surgeries for the patients with different types of hemangiomas as well as consultations for dermatological diseases such as acne, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis,  capillary malformations, hyper-pigmentations  (solar lentigo, melisma and etc) together with Maia Matoshvili, Associate Professor of TSMU  Department of Dermato-Venerology working at TSMU First University Clinic.

Dr. Ole Martin Rordam has been working in partnership with Tbilisi State Medical University for over a year already. He donated the apparatus - "SOLARI Square Pulse Technology" to Tbilisi State Medical University that was installed at G.Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic and is of great importance for providing proper treatment of the patients with vascular tumors. According to the Norwegian guest, he has a relationship with several European universities, and similar apparatus is functioning in a number of clinics abroad and the treatment carried out through it is very effective and in high demand. The "SOLARI Square Pulse Technology” apparatus is used for the treatment of dermatological as well as postoperative cosmetic problems in infants.  According to TSMU Professors, with this apparatus the university clinics were given the opportunity to provide surgeries of many types of hemangiomas in the future, not having been treated before in Georgia. 

On March 19, within the visit, Dr. Rordam delivered a lecture for students, residents and young specialists of Tbilisi State Medical University on topical issues of dermatology. He introduced the types of laser apparatus to the audience, talked about their effectiveness, reviewed procedures and results. The meeting was held in interactive mode. At the end of the lecture, Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, the Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, handed over the documentation to Dr. Ole Martin Rordam, according to which he was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Tbilisi State Medical University by the decision of the TSMU Academic Council.
