TSMU Delegation at the Conference of the European University Association (EUA)

On April 11-12, 2019, Chancellor of Tbilisi State Medical University, Professor Zurab Orjonikidze and Vice-Rector, Professor Rima Beriashvili paid an official visit to Paris, France, to participate in the annual Conference of European University Association (EUA). The main topic of the conference was "Driving innovation in Europe’s universities". The Conference was focused on how universities can develop strategies to shape today’s innovation. Through plenary sessions of various formats, the Conference provided insights into the policies and practices that enable innovation to thrive at Universities. The conference was held at Sorbonne University. Professor Rolf Tarrach President of European University Association - presented a program report on the conference. The participants were welcomed by: Prof. Jean Chambaz President of Sorbonne University and Jean-Eric Paquet Director-General of DG Research and Innovation. Tbilisi State Medical University As a full member of the European Universities Association, participated in the General Assembly, where the new President of European Universities Association - Professor Michael Murphy and six new members of the Council were elected by voting. The Conference was attended by Giorgi Vashakidze, Director of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and Archil Undilashvili, Director of the Educational Programs at Emory University School of Medicine, Head of US MD Program at TSMU.
