On October 18-20, 2021 within the framework of the Emory Georgia Fresh Air Research-Educational Project “CARE/ZRUNVA” training-seminar was organized in Likani. The event was attended by the representatives of Tbilisi State Medical University, National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), National Environmental Agency, TSMU master and doctorate students.
The project is implemented on the basis of the TSMU International School of Public Health. The aim of the project is to develop capacity of research on non-communicable diseases and environmental health in Georgia through training, teaching and practice. The Project “CARE/ZRUNVA” also supports TSMU Public Health Faculty master and doctorate students’ teaching and learning activities financially. The selected students are given opportunity to travel and learn various teaching modules at the Universities of Emory and George Washington.
Students involved in the project presented their reports about ongoing researches, listened to the recommendations and evaluation from the local and international experts. International mentors delivered online lectures about vulnerable issues related to the environmental health and ecology.
