TSMU delegation visit at the University of Pisa

On June 6-10, 2022 within the framework of ERASMUS+ ICM KA107 international credit mobility Tbilisi State Medical University delegation visited University of Pisa (Italy). Prof. Khatuna Todadze, TSMU Vice Rector, Irina Kapetivadze, Head of the Rector’s Office and Nino Kandelaki, TSMU ERASMUS + Institutional Project Coordinator participated in the event. Tbilisi State Medical University is the only Georgian university which cooperates with the University of Pisa within the framework of ERASMUS+ mobility.

The event was opened by Prof. Francesco Marcelloni, Vice Rector for Cooperation and International Relations of University of Pisa. Prof. Khatuna Todadze presented a report about TSMU academic programmes. Irina Kapetivadze spoke about internationalization and international student mobility at Tbilisi State Medical University. Nino Kandelaki was focused on the success of TSMU in the field of international relations. The event was also attended by the European, Central American and African universities’ representatives. Prof. Ann Katherine Isaacs, Vice-chair of the Bologna Follow up Group conducted a workshop. 

Within the framework of the visit the TSMU delegation met the University of Pisa ERASMUS + Institutional Project Coordinator and Head of the International Relations Department. Further cooperation activities were planned at the meeting. The TSMU delegation also met the TSMU residents. They undergo a five months course at the University of Pisa within the framework of the ERASMUS+ programme. 

“The visit was very successful. I hope the cooperation between the TSMU and the University of Pisa will be developed and strengthened. The cooperation will give a lot of TSMU students, residents, academic and administrative staff opportunity to obtain international experience” said Prof. Khatuna Todadze.
