თბილისის სახელმწიფო სამედიცინო უნივერსიტეტში სტაჟირების გასავლელად ვენის სამედიცინო უნივერსიტეტის სტუდენტები იმყოფებოდნენ

Students of Medical University of Vienna (Austria) underwent internship at Tbilisi State Medical University

From September 25 to December 22, 2023 within the framework of bilateral agreement between the Tbilisi State Medical University and Medical University of Vienna, international students Leon Alexander Pfeil and Daniel Badi Camiabi underwent clinical internship at the TSMU Departments of Otorhinolaryngology, Eye Diseases, Propedeutics and Topical Diagnosis of Neurological Diseases and Obstetrics and Gynecology.


“Communicating with patients was the most interesting part of the internship. I developed clinical and professional communication skills. Moreover, I am astonished with the sightseeings in Georgia. I have never heard about Georgia before and I am glad to meet such kind people. I am pretty sure I will return to Georgia” said Daniel Badi Camiabi.

The students were supervised by Assoc. Prof. Platon Machavariani Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Tbilisi State Medical University and Head of the Perinatology Direction of the First University Clinic, Professor Nato Nakudashvili Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Professor Maia Beridze Head of the Propedeutics and Topical Diagnosis of Neurological Diseases Department. 


“The students attended medical manipulations and discussions of clinical cases. We analyzed severe cases in the departments and the Austrian students were allowed to attend the meetings. I think they have obtained good clinical experience. Generally, it is very important for our university to facilitate international students’ integration process. The network they establish nowadays will be beneficial for their career development” said Assoc. Prof. Platon Machavariani.


“Students attended morning meetings, assisted nurses, communicated with patients and studied diverse manipulations. They were involved in the everyday activities of the department. I want to wish them success in their career development” noted Professor Maia Beridze.


“Austrian students had the opportunity to communicate with patients under the supervision of doctors. They established good communication with local, Georgian students too. The students of TSMU and the Medical University of Vienna used to discuss cases and share experiences with each other” said Professor Nato Nakudashvili.
