From September 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024, Tbilisi State Medical University Faculty of Medicine student, Ivliane Surmava underwent an internship at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) within the framework of the Erasmus + exchange program. The TSMU student attended surgeries in the Department of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology and was involved in the academic process of the university.

“I was given the opportunity to attend nearly 100 surgeries during the semester in the Departments of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology. Moreover, I participated in the XI International Lipodystrophies Symposium organized in the University of Santiago de Compostela. I am happy to complete the internship with high academic performance. The exchange programs are unique opportunities for students to receive European education” – said the TSMU student.
