Since March 11, 2024, until June 30, 2024, Nikolai Von Stackelberg, a student of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany) underwent clinical internship at the Department of Surgery of Tbilisi State Medical University as part of an exchange program. 

“I am very glad to be at the Department of Surgery of Tbilisi State Medical University. Within the framework of the clinical internship I attend surgeries and assist surgeons. I also discuss interesting manipulations and cases with doctors and residents. I am primarily studying general surgery procedures, laparoscopic surgery, and related topics. I am very impressed with the practical experience I am gaining in Georgia. I encourage students to participate in exchange programs, explore different healthcare practices in various countries, including medical work in Georgia, and gain practical experience in other countries" says the student.

The coordination of student internships in Georgia is supervised by Professor Gia Tomadze, Head of the Department of Surgery and Associate Professor Lali Akhmeteli.

The German student, Nikolai Von Stackelberg was participating in an exchange program between Tbilisi State Medical University and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany) as part of a bilateral agreement.
