On June 24 2024, Graduation Ceremony of the American MD Program was organized at Tbilisi State Medical University.
Before the ceremony an exhibition - "Beyond Medicine" was held in the hall of TSMU. US MD Program students presented their artworks, created as part of the courses "Art Glass - Fusing" and "Enamel - Jewelry Making. The course is conducted jointly by Tbilisi State Medical University and the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.
The event was opened by Professor Archil Undilashvili, Head of the American MD Program. He congratulated graduates on their successful completion of their study and wished them success. Professor Irakli Natroshvili Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University also congratulated the graduates and their families.
“Dear graduates, I congratulate your families and friends, congratulate you on completing your studies. I congratulate the professors and teachers of the university as their guidance has enabled you to acquire the knowledge and skills that you have gained during your time at Tbilisi State Medical University. I wish you success” said Professor Irakli Natroshvili.
Associate Professor Eka Ekaladze Director of TSMU US MD Program, Professor Rima Beriashvili Head of TSMU Department of Pathology Anatomy, Professor Gordon Churchward Assistant Dean of Emory University School of Medicine and Professor Mary Jo Lechowicz the Hematology and Medical Oncology Department of Emory University School of Medicine also congratulated the graduates on their successful accomplishment of study.
In recognition for outstanding contribution to development of the American MD Program at TSMU this year special Appreciation Awards were presented to the team of Hematology and Medical Oncology Department of Emory University School of Medicine.
To strengthen inter-university cooperation the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts was awarded a prize
Professor Joel Felner was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Tbilisi State Medical University for his outstanding contributions.
To the end of the ceremony graduates pledged the Hippocratic Oath traditionally.
131 students from 17 countries completed their medical studies on the American MD Program in the 2023-2024 academic year.
Tbilisi State Medical University congratulates all graduates on this significant date and wishes them success on their professional development journey!
