From November 4 to November 29, 2024, within the framework of the ERASMUS+ KA 171 international credit mobility program, students from Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences (KVK, Lithuania), Rosita Griciūte and Edvardas Jurasakas, underwent a clinical internship at the Department of Physical Medicine of Tbilisi State Medical University.
The internship took place at the Ken Walker Medical Rehabilitation University Clinic and the TSMU Clinical Center of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. The Lithuanian students actively participated in the rehabilitation management of patients with various neurological, traumatic and orthopedic injuries. They were also involved in patient examinations, diagnostics and the development of individualized rehabilitation programs under the supervision of Sofiko Shagidze, Head of the Adult Rehabilitation Unit at the Ken Walker University Clinic.
The Department of Physical Medicine of TSMU received a letter of appreciation from Monika Počienė, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences.
In February, 2025 two seventh semester students of the Physical Medicine program will travel to Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences for a one-month internship under the ERASMUS+ KA 171 program.
In spring semester of 2025, two lecturers involved in the teaching process of the Department of Physical Medicine and one lecturer from the Bachelor’s Program in Nursing will travel to the same university under the staff mobility for teaching program. They will also participate in the 22nd International Week “Cultural Mosaic in Education”, International Scientific-Practical Conference “Sustainable Environmental Development: Innovative Technologies”.
