Tbilisi State Medical University hosted a distinguished delegation from the University of Vienna: Professor Ioseb Nanobashvili, Deputy Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery of the University of Vienna and vascular surgeon at Vienna Private Clinic and Professor Gerhard Prager, Head of the Bariatric Surgery Department of the Vienna University Hospital, former President of the European Association for the Study of Obesity (2018–2022) and current President of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (2023–2024). The professors delivered public lectures for TSMU students and academic staff:

• “Arterial and Venous Pathologies: Atherosclerosis and Varicose Veins” – Professor Ioseb Nanobashvili

• “Advancements in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery” – Professor Gerhard Prager

Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of TSMU met the guests within the framework of the visit. The professors visited the Clinical Skills Center of TSMU where they were introduced to the center’s infrastructure and educational capabilities.
