Professor Marina Taloian, Department of Family Medicine of Karolinska Institute (Sweden) delivered a public lecture “The Need for Scientific Research – A Personal Experience” at Tbilisi State Medical University. Professor shared her professional and personal experiences in both clinical practice and scientific research with the audience.

As part of the lecture, Professor Taloian also addressed the challenges of integrating ethnic minorities into modern society. She explored the impact of social stigma, systemic barriers, and discrimination on the psychological well-being, self-esteem, and access to healthcare services of these communities.

The event concluded with a discussion session, during which participants engaged with the speaker on the topics presented in the lecture.
