Tbilisi State Medical University joined the global observance of National Blood Donor Week. The charitable event was initiated by the TSMU US MD Program in partnership with the Blood Bank of the Institute of Hematology. This year’s slogan of the global campaign — “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives” — emphasizes the power of donation and the importance of unity.

More than 60 individuals participated in the event. Among the voluntary blood donors were students, university professors and administrative staff. Professor Irakli Natrosvili, Rector of TSMU, Mr. Aleksandre Buachidze, TSMU Chancellor and Professor Tinatin Tkemaladze, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine also participated in the event.

The aim of the event was to raise public awareness and promote a culture of blood donation among young people. The voluntary blood donation campaign not only helps save lives, but also brings people together around a common humanitarian goal.
