The Annual Conference of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE 2025) lasted for four days and concluded on August 27. The event was hosted in Barcelona (Spain), attended by nearly 4,000 delegates from around 100 countries. The conference was held in a hybrid format.
Tbilisi State Medical University delegation: Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of TSMU, Professor Khatuna Todadze, Head of Quality Assurance Service, Associate Professor Irina Kapetivadze, Head of the Rector’s Office, Professor Rima Beriashvili, Head of the Faculty Development and Strategic Planning Department, Salome Voronovi, Head of the AMEE Centre in Georgia and Deputy Head of the Faculty Development and Strategic Planning Department, Professor Irma Manjavidze, Head of the Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Centre, Associate Professor Eka Ekaladze, Director of the American MD Program, Professor Nino Tskhvediani, the General Director of TSMU G. Zhvania Academic Pediatric Clinic, Ketevan Bibilashvili, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations participated in the conference.
The conference officially opened on August 24, with pre-conference sessions held on August 23. The agenda included presentations delivered by members of the TSMU delegation.
On August 25, poster presentations were delivered by Associate Professor Eka Ekaladze, Director of the American MD Program, “Incorporation of Pitch-to-Match Night as a Project Supportive Engine to the Research Discovery Course in Medical Education” and by Professor Irma Manjavidze, Head of the Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Centre, “Evaluating Final-Year Medical Students' Perceptions of Simulation-Based Clinical Skills Training at Tbilisi State Medical University”.
On August 26, conference participants attended a poster presentation by Ketevan Bibilashvili, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, “Policy and Strategic Use of Physical Rehabilitation Course in Undergraduate Medical Rehabilitation – Present Practice of Georgia” and a summary report by Salome Voronovi, Head of the AMEE Centre in Georgia and Deputy Head of the Faculty Development and Strategic Planning Department, “AMEE Center in Georgia: A Leading Regional Hub for Faculty Development in Health Professions Education”
On August 27, a poster presentation was delivered by Professor Rima Beriashvili, Head of the Faculty Development and Strategic Planning Department, “CPD Needs Assessment and Analysis to Take Actionable Steps Toward Applications of AI in Pathology”.
In addition, an online poster presentation was given by Associate Professor Dali Chitaishvili, Department of Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation of TSMU, “Impact of OSCE Timing on Medical Student Performance and Satisfaction: A Comparative Study”.
It has already been announced that the next Annual Conference of the Association for Medical Education in Europe will be held in Vienna, Austria, on August 22–26, 2026.
