On September 15–17, 2025 the Autumn General Assembly of the Section and Board of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) was held in Belgrade, Serbia. Professor Lela Maskhulia, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of TSMU participated in the Assembly as a delegate.

The agenda of the Assembly addressed key issues in the field, encompassing education, professional practice and scientific research. Professor Lela Maskhulia also took part in the workshops of the Committees on Professional Practice and Clinical Affairs, which focused on the latest technologies, bioengineering and telerehabilitation, neuroplasticity-targeted interventions, non-invasive brain stimulation, artificial intelligence and digital health, as well as sensorimotor robotics. Special emphasis was placed on the Section’s involvement in the initiatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Rehabilitation Alliance (WHA), as well as on prospects for new partnerships. Within the framework of the Assembly, thematic meetings were held on the development of educational programs, clinical practice and the implementation of innovative technologies. During discussions with Professor Lela Maskhulia, European colleagues expressed strong interest and proposed initiatives aimed at deepening professional collaboration, including the organization of a joint workshop with the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of TSMU.
