On 25 September, World Pharmacists
Day was celebrated at Tbilisi State Medical University. The event was organized
by the Georgian Association of Pharmacy Students, the Georgian Pharmacists’
Association, and TSMU Student Self-Government. The meeting highlighted the
importance of the pharmacy profession, its contribution to the healthcare
system, contemporary innovative approaches and prospects for scientific
development in the field.
“Congratulations on this important
day. As physicians, we are fully aware of the significance and relevance of
pharmacy. It is an essential and inseparable part of medicine. Our university
possesses considerable resources both in education and in science. Particularly
noteworthy is the Iovel Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry, an
institution with a long and distinguished history,” stated Professor Irakli
Natroshvili, Rector of TSMU.
Professor Tamar Chikviladze, Dean
of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Professor Malkhaz Getia, Director of the I.
Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry addressed the audience, reflecting
on the history and evolution of pharmacy at TSMU. The event brought together
representatives of the TSMU Faculty of Pharmacy, members of the Georgian
Pharmacists’ Association, staff of the I. Kutateladze Institute of
Pharmacochemistry and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The celebration concluded with an
awards ceremony, during which high-achieving students received certificates of
recognition and symbolic gifts.
