Tbilisi State Medical University
was visited by Dr. Kadri Medijainen, Director of Physiotherapy Educational
Programs at the Institute of Sport Sciences and Physiotherapy of the University
of Tartu (Estonia) and PhD student Kristi Ojaste within the framework of the
“Staff Mobility for Teaching” program (ERASMUS+ KA 171).
Dr. Kadri Medijainen delivered a
course and conducted practical sessions for undergraduate students of the Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation Program of TSMU. The activities were held within
the course - Physical Rehabilitation in Neurology. Professor Lela
Maskhulia, Head of the Department of Physical Medicine of TSMU and Dr. Kadri
Medijainen shared best practices and innovative approaches in the field of
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, discussed modern teaching and assessment
methods and explored opportunities for developing joint academic programs and
collaborative research projects between the two universities.
The Estonian guests also met with
the teaching staff of TSMU’s undergraduate and master’s programs in Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation. Discussions centered around the main components
and learning outcomes of the programs, modern teaching methodologies and the
integration of artificial intelligence in clinical education and rehabilitation
practice.
The guests also visited the Ken
Walker University Clinic of Medical Rehabilitation and conducted joint
practical training sessions together with Ms. Sofiko Shagidze, invited lecturer
of the Department of Physical Medicine and Head of the Adult Rehabilitation
Unit of the clinic.
