Assistant Professor Lia Gumbaridze, Department of Public Health, Management, Policy, and Economics of Tbilisi State Medical University visited the EHESP School of Public Health (École des Hautes Études en Santé Publique) Rennes (France) within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 programme funded by the European Commission.

Assistant Professor Lia Gumbaridze met with the representatives of the academic, administrative and international relations departments of EHESP. Discussions focused on the structure and content of public health educational programs, pedagogical teaching approaches and student academic assessment systems. Furthermore, the administrative and organizational procedures regarding the international mobility of master’s students under the Erasmus+ programme were examined in detail.

Special emphasis was placed on best practices for working with international students, including mechanisms for academic and administrative support, as well as the effective management of student integration and adaptation processes.

The visit highlighted the readiness and interest of the French partners to further deepen cooperation with Tbilisi State Medical University, particularly regarding the development of joint scientific research and academic collaboration.

Tbilisi State Medical University and the EHESP School of Public Health have established an inter-institutional agreement within the framework of the French Georgian Consortium. This consortium unites 11 French and 12 Georgian higher education institutions, aiming to promote the internationalization of higher education, foster academic mobility and strengthen institutional partnerships.
