Tbilisi State Medical University Strengthens Its Commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Times Higher Education Impact Ratings 2026

Tbilisi State Medical University has been ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ratings 2026, one of the world's leading frameworks for assessing universities' contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The THE Impact Ratings evaluate higher education institutions according to their performance in advancing sustainable development through education, research, knowledge transfer, healthcare services, and societal engagement. The ratings provide a comprehensive assessment of how universities contribute to addressing global challenges and supporting sustainable progress.

In the 2026 edition out of 1600 univeristies overall, TSMU once again achieved recognition in multiple SDG categories, reflecting the University's growing engagement with the international sustainability agenda. The TSMU results include recognition for its contributions to SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 17 Partnership for the Goals. Goals that closely align with TSMU's institutional mission as Georgia's leading medical university.
