Delegation of the Ataturk University (Erzurum, the Republic of Türkiye), including the following members: Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Rector of the Ataturk University, Prof. Dr. Elif Çadirci, Director of the Graduate School of Health Sciences and Head of the Medical Pharmacology Department, Prof. Zekai Halici, Professor of the Medical Pharmacology Department, Prof. Dr. Akın Erdal, Head of the of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, Prof. Dr. Taşkın Öztas, Head of the International Affairs Department and Dr. Pınar Ucak, ERASMUS + Coordinator visited Tbilisi State Medical University On January 24, 2023.
The guests were met by Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Vice Rectors of TSMU: Professor Khatuna Todadze and Professor Sophia Bakhtadze, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Rusudan Rukhadze, Dean of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Faculty, Professor Lela Maskhulia, Head of the International Relations Department, Assistant-Professor Tinatin Kilasonia, Dr. Nino Kandelaki ERASMUS + Coordinator and Dr. Irina Kapetivadze, Head of Rector’s Office. Prof.
Zurab Vadachkoria delivered a welcoming speech at the meeting. Vice Rector of TSMU, Prof. Khatuna Todadze presented detailed information about the history and achievements of the medical university. The guests were interested in the presentation and received comprehensive answers to their questions. Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı talked about Ataturk University and expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation with Tbilisi State Medical University. Prof. Dr. Taşkın Öztas and Prof. Dr. Akın Erdal presented presentations about educational, research and clinical activities at Ataturk University and Araştırma Hastanesi University Hospital. At the end of the meeting Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University and Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı Rector of Ataturk University signed a memorandum of cooperation. Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı noted partnership between the universities was founded early in 2008. The Rector of Ataturk University also emphasized that mutual understanding on the one hand strengthens the partnership activities between the universities and on the other hand facilitates student and academic staff mobility.
At the end of the visit delegation of Ataturk University visited TSMU Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center and Ken Walker Medical Rehabilitation University Clinic.
