On October 25, 2022 representatives of the Czech Republic Senate Committee on Health: Roman Kraus, Ivo Tresl, Ondrej Simetka, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia, Mr. Petr Mikiska and Head of Development Cooperation Mrs. Jana Zelingerova visited a new five-story building of the Tbilisi State Medical University G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic. The guests were met by Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of TSMU, Professor Sophia Bakhtadze Vice Rector of TSMU and Assoc. Prof Lia Dzidziguri General Director of G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic. 

On November 11, 2017 a memorandum was signed between the Czech Development Agency, the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and Tbilisi State Medical University on implementation and development of a project: “Introduction of children's long-term and palliative care services in Georgia”. Within the framework of the project, the Czech Development Agency and Tbilisi State Medical University signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a center providing long-term and palliative care services and build new therapeutic facilities in G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic. The construction of a new building was financed by Tbilisi State Medical University. The Czech Development Agency equipped the center with high-tech medical facilities. Within the framework of the memorandum a department of long-term and palliative care services for children with life-limiting illnesses was established at G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic.
