Conference – “Current Trends in Stroke Challenges, Rehabilitation and Perspectives” was organized at the Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation


On October 15, 2021 conference – “Current Trends in Stroke Challenges, Rehabilitation and Perspectives” was organized at the Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation.

The conference was opened by the TSMU Professor and Director of the Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation, Irakli Natroshvili and TSMU Vice Rector, Professor Sophia Bakhtadze. TSMU Professors Irakli Natroshvili, Marine Janelidze, Alexander Tsiskaridze, Associate Professor Irine Khatiashvili, Assistant Professor Elza Tataradze and Sofiko Shagidze, Head of the Adult Department at the Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation presented their reports.

Issues related to application of botulin toxin in neurology, outcomes of interdisciplinary treatment and new ways of post-stroke rehabilitation were discussed at the conference.

“Stroke is one of the most vulnerable issues in the adult society. Consequently, proper treatment and rehabilitation helps a person to regain the old rhythm of life and become a full member of the society again. Therefore, management and rehabilitation of the disease is very important. With the help of the speakers, we try to provide Georgian doctors with innovative information on the management and rehabilitation of this disease", - noted Professor Irakli Natroshvili.

The conference was initiated by Tbilisi State Medical University and Ken Walker University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation.
