Delegation of Tbilisi State Medical University at the Conference of the European Association for Medical Education (AMEE) (Helsink 2017)

On  August 26-30, 2017, the Conference of the European Association for Medical Education (AMEE), where participated the delegation of Tbilisi State Medical University - Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University, Prof. Rima Beriashvili Vice-Rector and Prof. Gaiane Simonia Head of the Department of Medical Education, Research and Strategic Development, was held in Helsinki (Finland). The conference was attended by over 3500 delegates from 97 countries of the world; within the frame of the Conference have been arranged:  4 plenary sessions, 7 symposiums, 31 workshops, master classes to modernize teaching and evaluation. At the conference, the delegation presented report “The impact of case‐based clinical reasoning (CBCR) on the development of medical students' diagnostic skills”.  During the Conference, the members of TSMU delegation had very interesting meetings with international partners  of TSMU – Prof. Trudie Roberts, President of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE); Prof. David Gordon the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), Prof. Richard Fuller, Professor of the Leeds University, Prof. Ole Ten Cate, Professor of the Utrecht Academic Medical University Center and California University; The further cooperation strategies have been developed. Members of the delegation participated in the Symposium "The results of 2016 of the International Accreditation Process: Objective, Challenges and Quality Assessment" related to the accreditation processes passing in the South America and the Caribbean countries. The symposium was conducted by WFME President Prof. David Gordon. The meeting discussed a number of recommendations, which will be taken into account in the process of preparation for international accreditation of TSMU.
