From March 29 to April 1, 2023 Dr. Avtandil Bakradze Invited Lecturer at the Department of Orthodontics of TSMU participated in the International Conference “Padua Days of Muscle & Mobility Medicine” in the University of Padua (Italy). 

Dr. Avtandil Bakradze presented a report “Electrophysiological Correlates of Masticatory Muscles in Nasal and Oral Breathing Modes”.

“Presenting innovative approaches widely applied in the oral cavity rehabilitation according to contemporary protocols, were especially challenging for me. I was honored to present Tbilisi State Medical University and achievements of orthodontics in Georgia at the conference” – said Dr. Avtandil Bakradze.

World leading international speakers, Professors Mauricio Gonzalez Balut (Mexico), Riccardo Rosati (Italy), Gaia Pellegrini (Italy) and others also presented reports at the conference. The conference was dedicated to the discussion of effective ways of elimination and evaluation of functional problems in medicine and dentistry, sharing best practices and experiences in the field. 

Dr. Avtandil Bakradze underwent internship in contemporary orthodontic treatment for congenital cleft lip and palate in children in the University Clinic of Wurzburg (Germany). From April 3 to April 25, within the framework of the internship the Georgian dentist under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Angelika Stellzig-Eisenhauer was introduced to the early treatment of children with congenital cleft lip and palate applying protective caps which is an innovative approach in Georgia. 

"I will successfully apply the knowledge I was given opportunity to acquire in Italy and Germany, on the one hand in the academic process and on the other hand in clinical activities" noted Dr. Avtandil Bakradze.
