თბილისის სახელმწიფო სამედიცინო უნივერსიტეტის თანაორგანიზებით იმუნოლოგთა საერთაშორისო კონგრესი მიმდინარეობს

International Congress of Immunologists co-organized by TSMU

The International Congress of Immunologists was organized as a part of the World Asthma Day and World Allergy Week in Tbilisi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Tbilisi State Medical University and the Georgian Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology. 

The event included several directions:

XI Georgian National Congress of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology;

VII European Congress on Asthma, COPD  and Respiratory Allergy; 

I International Conference of “Coronavirus Infection (COVID-19): Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation”.

Within the framework of the congress, International Scientific School: “Molecular Allergology and Vaccination” was also held.

On May 4, COVID-19 School Symposium “Microbiome, Virobiome and Chronic Diseases” was organized at Tbilisi State Medical University. On May 5-6, the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel hosted the congress and on May 7, the congress participants will visit TSMU again. 

The co-chairman of the congress was Professor Tinatin Chikovani, Head of the TSMU Immunology Department and a member of the executive committee of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS).

On May 5, the President of the Georgian Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, Academician Revaz Sepiashvili awarded active participants and supporters of the association with certificates. TSMU Rector, Professor Zurab Vadachkroa was among the awarded participants. TSMU Rector, Professor Zurab Vadachkroa noted, the traditional congress which is co-organized by TSMU is the best opportunity to introduce high international standards in Georgia.

“The international delegation discusses the most important issues of immunology and allergology. The decisions made here will soon be introduced in clinical practice enhancing development of medicine” noted the Rector of the Tbilisi State Medical University. 

Professor Tinatin Chikovani, Head of the TSMU Immunology Department highlighted, the conference is a unique opportunity for face-to-face communication with young Georgian doctors and international scientists. 

“The fact that the congress is organized on the spot is a unique opportunity for young doctors. They can meet and communicate with professional scientists and doctors. Such interactions and meetings allow everyone to find out innovations taking place in science which will be the basis for changes in clinical practices tomorrow” said Professor Tinatin Chikovani. 

The event covers sessions, symposiums, seminars and schools. The congress program involves School of Molecular Allergology, joint sessions of the Georgian Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, world allergology organizations and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

The event will be attended by the scientists, experts and speakers from the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), World Allergology Organization (WAO), the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the World Immunopathology Organization (WIPO), American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), diverse international organizations and programs.
