Nika Gvazava, Tbilisi State Medical University graduate was named among top five young leaders UNDER 30 Forbes Georgia. Nika is a PhD Student at Lund Stem Cell Center, Faculty of Medicine, Lund University.
"It is a great honor and at the same time a huge responsibility towards my country. The recognition is a big motivation, especially in the field of science as it requires tremendous work and pressure. I have always wanted to become a doctor. I was a student of Tbilisi State Medical University but soon realized that I was more fascinated with science. Besides education, Tbilisi State Medical University taught me personal relationships and introduced me to valuable people. I would be glad to give a piece of advice to students: never ever give up. The obstacles you encounter in life should not stop anyone. You should keep on walking towards your goal. Constructive criticism is acceptable and taken into account. Be ambitious but define your goals and move towards them under the supervision of your supervisors. We all need mentors because in medicine especially theoretical knowledge is not enough. You need experience. Tbilisi State Medical University is my alma mater. When I am back in my country I always visit my alma mater either. I am so grateful to my professors and teachers. I share my scientific experiences and dilemmas with them and they always share their advice and experiences” - said Nika Gvazava.
A TSMU graduate and a scientific expert is working in collaboration with Tbilisi State Medical University.
“Nika has always kept interrelation with his alma mater. Nowadays he closely cooperates with Tbilisi State Medical University and is involved in the US MD program. Nika has always been trying to help students to develop their scientific skills and as a scientific expert has been involved in students’ projects evaluation.
I want to congratulate Nikoloz on the success as a result of a huge amount of work. He was a very active student having good communication and analytical skills” – said Professor Tinatin Chikovani.
Forbes Georgia project 30 UNDER 30 designates leaders under 30 in Georgia. Young leaders are nominated in the 2023 list according to their achievements, reputation, leadership skills and success in the field. The aim of the project is to reveal young and talented visionary leaders making impact on the fields and areas they are working.
