On October 5, 2017, TSMU Honorary Doctors: Prof. Aviram Nissan Professor and Head of the Department of General and Oncologic Surgery of the Chaim Sheba Medical Center and Prof. Merab Sareli Chair of Georgian Jews World Congress, Professor of the Department of General and Oncologic Surgery of  the Chaim Sheba Medical Center (Israel) paid the visit to the Tbilisi State Medical University.

The guests were met by: Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University;  Professor Zurab Orjonikidze, Chancellor;  Professor Rima Beriashvili Vice Rector; Professor Tinatin Chikovani Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. At the meeting the guests discussed the prospects of future cooperation and expressed great interest in development of both exchange programs and scientific projects.  Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of TSMU handed the Diploma certifying the title of Honorary Doctor of Tbilisi State Medical University to Prof. Aviram Nissan Professor and Head of the Department of General and Oncologic Surgery of the Chaim Sheba Medical Center. As it is known, on October 2, 2017  Prof. Aviram Nissan  was awarded the TSMU Honorary Doctorate by the Academic Council of the TSMU. Prof. Aviram Nissan expressed his special gratitude for the award and noted that future cooperation will be fruitful and plentiful. He also added that he is familiar with the graduates of Tbilisi State Medical University, successfully working  and enjoying special respect in Israel. At the end of the meeting, memorable gifts with the symbolics  of the Tbilisi State Medical University were presented to the guests.
