On June 8-13, 2022 Professor Marina Mamaladze, Head of the Odontology Department was invited to the 65th International Congress of the International College of Dentists (ICD) in Port (Portugal). Prof. Marina Mamaladze as a Vice-Regent of District 15 (North-Eastern and Central Europe) participated in the regent board meeting (Summer BORM). Prof. Marina Mamaladze presented two ICD candidates: Assoc. Prof. Dea Vadachkoria, TSMU Orthopedic Stomatology Department and TSMU Invited Lecturer Manana Ustiashvili, Academic Doctor of Dentistry and Doctor of Dental Clinic and Training-Research Center UniDent. TSMU Odontology Department Associate Professors and ICD members Natia Nizharadze and Lia Sanodze and Tamar Zhgenti, member of the Georgia Dental Association and Doctor of Dental Clinic and Training-Research Center UniDent also participated in the congress. 

“Scientific part of the congress was especially interesting. Keynote speakers and contemporary issues related to dentistry were discussed at the meeting. Professor La Banca delivered a lecture on pain management problems in dentistry. Professor Nimet Gudja made a presentation about preventive measures in orthodontics and Prof. Tavares conducted lecture: “The Future of Clinical Genetics"” noted Prof. Marina Mamaladze.

The welcoming ceremony for the new members of the ICD Congress was organized at the ancient and unique building of Porto - Palacio da Bolsa. The upcoming congress is planned to be organized in Amsterdam (Netherlands) in 2023 and in Jerusalem in 2024.
