On August 6-26, 2023 within the framework of a bilateral agreement between the Recep Tayyip Erdogan University (Rize, Turkey) and Tbilisi State Medical University, a group of TSMU students underwent clinical internship at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Clinic. The TSMU students: Archil Kakhidze, Mariam Giorgashvili, Barbara Sultanishvili, Giorgi Aptsiauri, Manana Manvelishvili, Bachana Aptsiauri, Otar Gigolashvili, Tatia Putkaradze, Mariam Tsanatskenishvili, Mariam Jishkariani, Mariam Buliskeria, Nata Abuladze, Tamar Burjanadze, Roman Babaevi and Nino Ustiashvili were under the supervision of Nino Jankarashvili, TSMU Department of Ophthalmology.
The Georgian students were met by Professor Nebi Gumus, Vice Rector of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan University, Assistant Professor Volkan Mutlu, Head of the International Relations Department and administrative and academic staff of the university.
The students underwent clinical internship at the Gynecology and Cardiology Departments and Emergency Unit. Within the framework of the internship the TSMU students attended consultations, checkups and surgeries, performed diverse manipulations and discussed interesting clinical cases. The students also visited the simulation center equipped with advanced technologies and attended a training. Assoc. Prof Gul Ozturk hosted the students in the Georgian Language Center. The TSMU students were granted certificates at the end of the internship in Recep Tayyip Erdogan University.
