On November 4, 2019 Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector and Prof. Rima Beriashvili, TSMU Vice Rector were invited in Berlin, at the Federal Ministry of Health. The aim of the visit was to discuss the partnership project between TSMU and the German Society for Pediatrics and Youth (DGKJ) uniting nearly 17 000 professionals. From 2020 the German Society for Pediatrics and Youth supported by the Government of Germany plans to develop a joint project with Tbilisi State Medical University and G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic. The goal of the project is to share German professionals’ knowledge to Georgian students, residents, doctors and staff at the G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic in the field of Pediatric. The meeting was attended by the members of the German Society for Pediatrics and Youth, Ms. Galina Mantey, the representative of the German Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Norbert Wagner, Professor and Chairman, Department of Pediatrics, at the Aachen University (Germany) and Prof. Michael Lenz, TSMU Honorable Doctor. Dr. Norbert Wagner presented the details of the project, Prof. Michael Lenz talked about his long-term professional experience at the G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic. Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector presented report about TSMU, G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic and co-operative projects with German Clinics and Universities. Prof. Zurab Vadachkoria especially marked the work of Prof. Michael Lenz at the G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic. Since 2013 a new generation of pediatrics has been developing at Tbilisi State Medical University and G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic under the supervision of the German Professor.
