Tbilisi State Medical University Student Self Government was awarded with a certificate of appreciation for its contribution to the development of regular blood donation and safety by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia L. Sakvarelidze National Center for Disease Control and Public Health. 

The EU Twinning Project "Strengthening the Blood Safety System in Georgia" and the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health organized an event dedicated to the blood donation day: "Strengthening the Blood Safety System in Georgia: Towards Effective and Consistent Communication". Within the framework of the event 2022 – 2027 blood supply chain communication strategy was discussed. The aim of the event was to identify the communication strategy and visual identification of the campaign. Blood donation video clip was also presented at the event.

The event was attended by Tamar Gabunia, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia, representatives of the EU delegation to Georgia, National Center for Disease Control and Public Health and the embassies of the Netherlands and Lithuania. Representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, blood banks, non-governmental organizations, field experts, and blood donor organizations also participated in the event.
