Tbilisi State Medical University hosted an Italian delegation

On February 6, 2018, the Italian delegation including: Prof. Armando Genazzani Full Professor of Pharmacology Vice-Chancellor for international Affairs at the University of  Piemonte Orientale and Prof.Lia Rimondini, Head of Department of Health Sciences at the University of  Piemonte Orientale (Italy) visited Tbilisi State Medical University. The guests were interested in educational programs provided by the university as well as management and regulation of healthcare system and medical education in Georgia and talked about organizing joint projects in this direction. The Vice Rector of TSMU, Professor Rima Beriashvili introduced the faculties and educational  programs of the University to the guests and talked about the activities of TSMU university clinics and S/R institutions. She underlined strategic importance of scientific-research activities and expressed readiness to cooperate with the University of Italy. According to Prof.Khatuna Todadze Vice-Rector of TSMU “one of the major priorities of TSMU  is development of scientific research activities. That is why we are trying to consider international relationship in this direction".  The Vice-Rectors emphasized that the University attaches great importance to the internationalization process. Prof. Irakli Kokhreidze, Vice-Rector of TSMU spoke about cooperation with clinics in the process of internationalization. Tbilisi State Medical University is actively involved in implementation of international projects and actively collaborates with the partners from different countries, enabling medical personnel to share international experience and good practice". Ms. Nino Kandelaki Erasmus + Program Coordinator at TSMU introduced the Erasmus+ partner universities of Italy to the guests and noted that the Department will be glad to collaborate with the University of Piemonte Orientale. At the meeting, the representatives of the universities agreed on signing the memorandum within the frames of "Erasmus +". Ms. Irina Kapetivadze, Head of TSMU International Affairs Department, and Professor Dali Berashvili Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy underlined that within this Memorandum two students of the faculty of Pharmacy will visit Italy by September 2018.
