On June 14, 2023 World Blood Donor Day is celebrated throughout the world. Officially designated as an annual event by the World Health Assembly in 2005, the day provides a special opportunity to celebrate and thank voluntary blood donors around the world for their gift of blood and has become a major focus for action towards achieving universal access to safe blood transfusion.

Within the framework of the World Blood Donor Day the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) organized an awarding ceremony of voluntary donors and supporting organizations. Tbilisi State Medical University Student Self-Government representatives were invited to the event. 

Tbilisi State Medical University and the Student Self Government were awarded with the certificates of appreciation by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health. TSMU students and active donors Ucha Bibichadze and Ekaterine Gusharashvili were also awarded with the certificates of appreciation.
