Visit of 159 and 124 Tbilisi public schools’ students at Tbilisi State Medical University

On February 26, 2024, Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by the 10th and 11th grade students of Tbilisi Public Schools N 159 and 124.

The guests visited the Museum of Life Sciences, the Research Center of Human Genome and Epigenome and the Department of Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation. Professor Irma Manjavidze, Head of the Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Department informed the high school students about the simulation-based teaching method and the history of the center. Nana Jikidze, senior specialist of the center and Jemal Machavariani, specialist conducted training about the basic vital algorithm, providing emergency aid and applying bandages. Besides, Assoc. Prof. Eka Kvaratskhelia informed the high school students about the European competition of DNA Day Essay (www.dnaday.eu), where students also participate. 

The 159 and 124 Tbilisi public schools are involved in the USAID civic education program project “My future profession”. Consequently, the high school students' visit to Tbilisi State Medical University aimed to promote professional orientation within youth.
