On October 5,6 and 7 2023 conference “Contemporary Approaches in Neonatology” was organized at Tbilisi State Medical University. The event was opened by Professor Sophia Baktadze Vice Rector of TSMU.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Bührer, Medical Director of the Department of Neonatology, Charite University Hospital (Berlin), Dr. Nino Zurebiani, a doctor at the Charite University Hospital (Berlin) and founder of “Save the Tiny Life" in Georgia, Dr. Tinatin Kurdadze, neonatologist and founder of “Save the Tiny Life" in Georgia, TSMU Professor and Georgian Neonatology Society board member Khatuna Lomauri and Dr. Natia Danelia neonatologist and Head of Neonatal Intensive Care of “Hera 21” presented reports on vulnerable issues in neonatal field. Perinatal health related challenges, contemporary achievements in neonatology in Georgia, basic principles of low birth weight infant management and respiratory disorders in newborns were widely discussed at the conference.

Within the framework of the visit Prof. Dr. Christoph Bührer and Dr. Nino Zurebiani visited G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University and TSMU the First University Clinic.
