Tbilisi State Medical University hosted a world-wide event TEDxTSMU for the first time in Georgia. The language of instruction was English. The speakers were medical and other health related experts in Georgia. The event was attended by TSMU students, academic and administrative staff and Nilakshi Saha Sinha, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Armenia & Georgia. 

TEDx is the platform created to discuss and spread innovative and sparkling ideas. It welcomes people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world and connection with others. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, but today it spans a multitude of worldwide communities and initiatives exploring everything from science, business, education to arts and technological issues. TEDx events include live speakers, recorded TED Talks, podcasts, short video series and animated TED-Ed lessons. TEDx organizes more than 3000 events annually. 

The first TEDxTSMU event seemed interesting and interactive for the audience. The event is important for the TSMU students in terms of their personal and professional development.
