From December 29, 2023 to February 23, 2024 within the framework of the exchange program, Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by Leandra Lilie, a student from the University of Hamburg. The student underwent clinical internship at the Tbilisi State Medical University and Ingorokva High Medical Technology University Clinic, Department of Internal Diseases N2 (supervisor: Prof. Irma Chokhonelidze).

“I spent two months at the Department of Nephrology, Direction of Internal Medicine. I followed up the process of dialysis and consulted the patients which is one of the most interesting processes for me. This is the second time I am in Georgia as an exchange student. I like the practice and experience obtained here and I believe I have received a quality education. It is very nice to see motivated doctors, their efforts and happy patients. I will recommend students to participate in exchange programs and visit Georgia, as working with Georgian doctors is very interesting. I want to express my appreciation to the Tbilisi State Medical University for the opportunity” said Leandra Lilie. 

The doctors at the Department of Internal Diseases N 2 evaluated the student's activities positively. They said that Leandra was actively involved in the clinical activities and likes the experience obtained at the TSMU. 

“The student was involved in the clinical activities. She was given the opportunity to examine and communicate with patients, discuss medical cases with doctors. I think Leandra received a good experience in Georgia” said the TSMU Invited Lecturer Nino Buadze.

The University of Hamburg student had undergone the clinical internship in Georgia for the second time. The first time he was in the Department of Surgery of Tbilisi State Medical University.
