Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by Professor Joachim Freihorst, Ulm University Clinic (Germany). Professor attended the solemn event dedicated to the beginning of the new 2023/2024 academic year. Professor Joachim Freihorst congratulated the students and academic staff of TSMU at the beginning of the academic year and wished them success.  

The German professor visited TSMU Clinical Skills and Multidisciplinary Simulation Center. The guest also met Assoc. Prof. Eka Ekaladze, Director of American MD Program and Prof. Archil Undilashvili, Director of Educational Programs of Emory University School of Medicine (Atlanta, USA) and Head of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation Policy and Strategic Management of TSMU. The professor was especially interested in the US MD educational program. 

Within the framework of the visit Professor Joachim Freihorst visited TSMU G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic and conducted cycles of lectures on contemporary issues in pulmonology. The lectures were attended by the TSMU students and residents. The German professor also consulted patients. 

Professor Joachim Freihorst’s visit was organized within the framework of cooperation between Tbilisi State Medical University, German Ministry of Health and German Society of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (DGKJ).
