On June 13, Student Conference: "Traditional and Contemporary Medicine" was organized at TSMU by the Department of History of Medicine and Bioethics.  International Medicine Faculty freshmen participated in the conference and presented topics about historically relevant, actual medical problems and the roles of the world medical associations.

The conference was attended by the representatives from Red Cross Society, Prof. Ramaz Shengelia, the Head of the Department of History of Medicine and Bioethics, MD Eka Sanikidze and other TSMU professors. MD Sanikidze noted: “The conference was initiated by the TSMU students and is aimed to raise the students’ involvement in the public awareness activities. TSMU intends to organize similar conferences not only for TSMU students but also attract students from different Georgian universities”.
