On November 25, 2022 a memorial evening of Professor Shamshe Kevanishvili was organized at the Department of Clinical Anatomy and Operative Surgery of Tbilisi State Medical University. Speakers remembered the professor and emphasized his talent and special attitudes towards students. The students attended his lectures with special interest and enthusiasm. Professor Shamshe Kevanishvili was named as the best teacher several times.

Professor Shamshe Kevanishvili worked as a teacher and a researcher at the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy. He made a contribution to the foundation of the first anatomical museum of the department. The professor was the author of more than 70 scientific articles including two monographs: "Surgical Vascular Anatomy of the Liver" (1969) and "Experimental Results of Portal Vein Obstruction" (1974). Nowadays when the research outcomes of hepatologists are widely available, Professor Shamshe Kevanishvili’s work has no analogues. 

The evening was completed by opening a memorial plaque of Professor Shamshe Kevanishvili in the Department of Clinical Anatomy and Operative Surgery of Tbilisi State Medical University.

The event was attended by TSMU administrative and academic staff, professor’s students and family members.
