On April 12-16, 2023 Prof. Lela Maskhulia Dean of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Assoc. Prof. Nino Tskhvediani Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Irina Kapetivadze Head of Rector’s Office attended The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Preventive Cardiology Annual Congress 2023 in Malaga (Spain). 

Prof. Lela Maskhulia presented a report: “Evaluation of the effect of oxidative stress on dynamics of cardiac biomarkers in Georgian elite athletes with overtraining syndrome” at the moderated session of Sports Cardiology and Exercise. 

Within the framework of the visit the TSMU delegation met representatives from the participant universities. The delegation also discussed joint scientific and clinical projects with Professor Antonio Pelliccia, Institute of Sport Medicine (Rome), Prof. Aashish Contractor Vice-Chairman of the ICCPR (International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation) and Prof. John Buckley Exercise Rehabilitation of Keele University. Future cooperation perspectives were actively discussed during the meetings.
