TSMU Professors at the International Congress in Milan

Professors from Tbilisi State Medical University presented their research findings at the international congress of the European Society of Cardiology – ESC Preventive Cardiology 2025, held in Milan. The presentation focused on the topic: “The Role of Exercise Testing in the Assessment of Athletes with Ventricular Extrasystole: A Retrospective Study.”

Professor Lela Maskhulia, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of TSMU and the cardiologist at the TSMU Clinical Center of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and Dr. Tamar Chutkerashvili participated in clinical case discussions during the congress.

Within the framework of the congress, TSMU professors held meetings with leading international field experts, including representatives from the International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation. During the discussions, the parties addressed current topics in preventive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation, as well as an ongoing research project on secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. They also agreed on the next stages of collaboration.

TSMU’s Department of Physical Medicine and the Clinical Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation have a long-standing partnership with the International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation, which includes numerous joint scientific research projects.
