TSMU Professor Archil Undilashvili Head of the US MD program attended the Friends of the National Library of Medicine awarding ceremony

TSMU Professor Archil Undilashvili Head of the American MD program and Department of Physical Rehabilitation Policy and Strategic Management attended the Friends of the National Library of Medicine” (Washington, USA) awarding ceremony. Prof. Archil Undilashvili met the colleagues and introduced them to projects implemented and developed by Emory University in Georgia. 

The Friends of the National Library of Medicine awarding ceremony is an annual event, awarding scientific and medical leaders who have made significant contributions to health care. Representatives of state, professional and business organizations participate in the event. The ceremony supports and promotes the world’s largest medical library the National Library of Medicine (NLM).

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) is one of 27 organizations of the US National Institutes of Health. The Library, founded in 1836 is the world’s largest repository of biomedical and health sciences printed and electronic information. The library promotes research, education, and public service.

The ceremony was opened by Chair of the Board, Glen P. Campbell. Patricia Brennan, the Director of the National Library of Medicine Dr. Andrew Balas, NLM’s Vice President, Prof. Sandra G. Franklin (Emory University), Jack Farrell, Managing Director of “Jack Farrell and Associates”, MD Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief medical advisor to the president of the United States welcomed the audience.

Among the awarded scientists and professionals of past events of the Friends of the National Library of Medicine were Professors Robert C. It is notable that Henry Kenneth Walker was Professor of Medicine and Neurology at Emory University School of Medicine, Professor of Global Health at Rollins School of Public Health, Honorary Doctor of Tbilisi State Medical University, Honorary Citizen of Tbilisi and Georgia. The professor was the Vice President of the Friends of the National Library of Medicine.
