Visit of Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector to Batumi

On July 9, 2020 Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, TSMU Rector, visited Batumi and attended re-opening ceremony of “Ken Walker Medical University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation”. The clinic was closed nearly three months ago due to COVID-19 pandemic. The clinic has undergone control and fully meets all the requirements set by the Government of Georgia and the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health. 

“Ken Walker Medical University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation” was opened in 2018 within the framework of the USAID supported “Physical Rehabilitation Project in Georgia”, TSMU, Emory School of Medicine (USA, Atlanta), LTD Forsyth Investment Group and Partners for International Development, Georgian Office. 

On July 24, “Ken Walker Medical University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation” will be opened in Tbilisi within the framework of the same project. “The aim of establishing the clinic is to create a highly qualified rehabilitation service in the region and most importantly creating TSMU clinical training base” – noted Professor Zurab Vadachkoria. 

“Ken Walker Medical University Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation” in Tbilisi is the first rehabilitation clinic in Caucasian Region fully equipped with American and European high-tech rehabilitation equipment, offering a full range of multidisciplinary rehabilitation services to people in need. The project is unique as it is aimed to improve on the one hand health of the patients and on the other hand raise knowledge of students, residents and young specialists of Tbilisi State Medical University under the guidance of highly qualified, professional staff.
