On June 21-26, 2023 Professor Marina Mamaladze Head of the Odontology Department of Tbilisi State Medical University participated in the 66th Annual Congress of International College of Dentists in Amsterdam (Netherlands). Professor Marina Mamaladze has been a member of the organization since 2013 and in 2020 she was elected as ICD Vice-regent (Caucasus countries). The congress was also attended by the TSMU academic staff and invited teachers: Assoc. Professors Natia Nizharadze, Lia Sanodze, Dea Vadachkoria, Assistant Professor Ekaterine Beshkenadze, invited teachers Manana Ustiashvili, Tea Janjalashvii. TSMU delegation was presented at the solemn ceremony by one of the ICD regents Dr. Sergei Radlinski. One of the most interesting scientific sessions within the framework of the ICD congress was teeth and maxillofacial injuries. 

“The issue was especially interesting for us. Besides reflecting the dental trauma management principles in the syllabuses, national guidelines for managing diseases “Traumatic dental injuries and their structure” is authored by me and my colleague Assoc. Prof. Natia Nizharadze. Consequently, modern approaches and treatment methods are extremely important and interesting for us. Moreover, the issues were discussed by the leading professors of the universities and clinics of the Netherlands” said Professor Marina Mamaladze.

The scientific session of the congress was preceded by the ICD European Section Board of Regents meeting. Prof. Mauro Labanca, ICD European Section Board Secretary General discussed the opportunities of extension of the European Section which will create serious development opportunities for the Caucasus Region.
