On April 20,  2018, the Turkish delegation visited Tbilisi State Medical University. The members of delegation were welcomed by Prof. Tinatin Chikovani, Dean of TSMU Faculty of Medicine, David Delibashvili, Deputy Dean  and Assistant Professor Tinatin Kilasonia, Acting Head of TSMU Department of International Relations. Prof. Vahdet Gül Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Erzincan University (Turkey), and Doctor Ercan Irik were interested in academic programs provided by TSMU and the projects implemented for development of clinical skills of the students, especially in medicine.  Prof. Tinatin Chikovani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine talked about academic process at TSMU and the issues related to development of clinical skills of the students. Prof. T.Chikovani expressed readiness to collaborate with Erzincan University (Turkey). Tinatin Kilasonia, Acting Head of TSMU Department of International Relations introduced the information on long-term partnership with the Universities of Turkey to the guests.  She also noted that TSMU participates   in MEVLANA Exchange Program (Turkey), consequently, TSMU students of B.A, M.A and PhD levels as well as academic personnel have the opportunity to be involved in this exchange program.  Mr. Abdullah Oman Oglu, a representative of Turkish Embassy, and the graduate of Tbilisi State Medical University also visited the University. Representative of the Turkish Embassy noted that he will actively engage in the development of collaboration between Tbilisi State Medical University and Erzincan University.
