On June 11-14, 2022 Prof. Tinatin Tkemaladze and Assoc. Prof. Eka Kvaratskhelia, Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics of the Tbilisi State Medical University participated in the European Human Genetics Conference in Vienna (Austria). 

The TSMU representatives presented poster presentations: “IGHMBP2-related disease with genotype-phenotype correlation” (T. Tkemaladze) and “Development of continuing medical education program in laboratory genetics in Georgia” (E. Kvaratskhelia). A young scientist, TSMU 8th semester student Sandro Surmava was financed by the European Human Genetics Conference to present a report: “Interleukin-10 gene polymorphism rs1800896 and IL-10 levels in cystic fibrosis”.

Prof. Tinatin Tkemaladze presented a rare clinical case in the dysmorphology section. The case was discussed by the audience. Assoc. Prof. Eka Kvaratskhelia attended a meeting of the European Society of Human Genetics and presented the activities implemented and developed by the Georgian Society of Medical Genetics and Epigenetics.
