White Coat Protest – Freedom to Vazha Gaprindashvili was supported by Tbilisi State Medical University and the University Clinics of TSMU. The protest started on November 18, at 12:00 and covered different medical institutes. Via five-minute silent protest doctors, students, academic and administrative staff of TSMU, the TSMU First University Clinic, G. Zhvania Pediatric Academic Clinic, Apolon Urushadze Dental Clinic, TSMU N 1 and N 2 Dental Clinics supported Dr. Vazha Gaprindashvili and his family.  "We condemn the illegal detention of our colleague, Dr. Vazha Gaprindashvili and urge everyone to support his immediate release." – noted the participants of the protest. 

Vazha Gaprindashvili, a well-known Georgian doctor and the President of the Association of Orthopedists and Traumatologists was sentenced by the de facto authorities in Georgia’s South Ossetia Region nearly ten days ago.
