On September 22-25, 2022 the 5 th International Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Conference Geoanesthesia 2022 was organized in Batumi. Anesthesiologists, intensivists, toxicologists and emergency specialists from Germany, Israel, Ukraine, Hungary, Austria, Armenia and France participated in the conference. 

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the Government of Autonomous Republic of Adjara. Professor Zurab Vadachkoria, Rector of Tbilisi State Medical University presented a speech. “The conference is one step forward towards the development of medical education and science in Georgia,” said Professor Zurab Vadachkoria.

The speakers from Tbilisi State Medical University Professors Tinatin Chikovani, Levan Ratiani, Ivane Chkhaidze and Assistant Professor Eka Kurdadze presented reports about achievements, problems and ways to solve current issues in the field. A separate session was dedicated to urses where contemporary challenges in terms of development of the nursing profession in Georgia were discussed. 

The conference was organized by the Society of Anesthesiologists and Reanimatologists in Georgia, Government of Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Tbilisi State Medical University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Georgian School of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.
